What This Is

For 21 years, women on the Mendocino Coast have gathered in circle with the frame drum.

This is a mixed-level rhythm and voice practice rooted in the Mediterranean and Celtic frame drum traditions, guided by intuition rather than performance.

Beginners welcome.
Bring a drum if you can.
Limited student drums available.
Drop-ins available Weeks 1 and 2 only.

This is not about singing beautifully.
It is about singing honestly.

Intuitive Drum Song is a practice of remembering. Through rhythm and voice, you enter the place where your songs already live.

The frame drum creates a steady container. Within that pulse, your own rhythm and frequency begin to surface. You reconnect with your inner coherence. You remember where you came from.

This is the vocabulary of your soul.

Lineage & Study

Rooted in a family of musicians and a community steeped in song, Lavender Grace’s path began early and never loosened its grip.

She studied voice and world rhythms at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow and continued at The New School for Social Research in New York, where her relationship with the frame drum deepened.

Intuitive Drum Song is a distillation of more than twenty-five years of study and practice in the frame drum traditions of the Mediterranean, the Fertile Crescent, and the Celtic Isles.

She continues her study of rhythm, coherence, and the healing intelligence of sound on the coast of Mendocino. As a Song Doula, she guides women in birthing the music that already lives within them.
